Location Theme Soap Challenge Club (April 2016 entry)

Hi, everyone,

This month challenge was very hard for me because my baby-girl was having a toothache all this time, so I had some 20 minutes break during the day and no evening soaping as she went asleep at midnight.

I made one soap and I’m proud of myself)))))))

So this is my 4 Soap Challenge Club (First - Impression Mat, Second - Circling Taiwan Swirl, Third - Rimmed Soap) and my first time:
-          Doing embeds (I HATE embeds)))
-          Painting on soap
-          Doing inside rim
-          Soapcarving
-          Trying to do black soap for three times and not succeeding))) really, I managed to do grey soaps only…

Amy, thank you very much for such a great idea for the challenge, as I watch at all those soaps participated I want to visit each and every country and place.

So I have chosen Prague Old Town Astronomical Clock to represent some piece of the Czech Republic. I have been living here for almost 9 years and I’m happy here. I like those clock very much as they seem to me so unusual and interesting. Here are some pics from Google:

The Prague astronomical clock, or Prague orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock. It was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest one still operating. Formerly, it was believed that the Orloj was constructed in 1490 by clockmaster Jan Růže (also called Hanuš); this is now known to be a historical mistake. A legend has it that the clockmaker Hanuš was blinded on the order of the Prague Councillors so that he could not repeat his work; in turn, he broke down the clock, and no one was able to repair it for the next hundred years.

The Orloj suffered heavy damage on May 7 and especially May 8, 1945, during the Prague Uprising, when Germans set fire to the south-west side of the Old Town Square. The hall and nearby buildings burned along with the wooden sculptures on the Orloj and the calendar dial face made by Josef Mánes. After significant effort, the machinery was repaired, and the Orloj started working again in 1948.

I had the idea with orloj before I knew the condition of the challenge to use log or slab mold only for the soap itself… So I must start from the other end))) Enjoy photos.
P.S. I apologize for not very good pics))) I was in a harry each and every time this month.

I make a rim as for the rimmed soap and put it inside premade soap

I used one size tube for those two little embeds, but the black one (grey in mz soap) has to be bigger, so I just rimmed it too))))

Soda ash makes the soap look really rustic and old))))

As I was making every part of the soap with some 2-3 days break, the wall-soap and rim did not like each other))) and got apart.. but again it gave that old look for this soap, I like it)))

Good luck to everyone and let your clock be as nice as those wooden copy of Prague orloj

    1. Oh, debi, I'm very sorry, I don't know what happened))) I canceled moderation last month...May be you forgot to press Publish))))) that's the reason why my comments mainly are lost)))))

    2. It also may be my phone. For some weird reason, every one of the comments I made on someone's Blogspot blog through my mobile did not post at all. Only blogs by Blogspot, not other ones powered by different places like Word Press had the issue. Once I went back on my computer and re-posted the comments they went through fine!
